Big Foot

These are real pictures, that have not been digitally enhanced in any way...my feet are huge!!! Especially the left one. I officially have cankles, which is super hot:). You may also notice that the sole of my shoe seems to be falling apart...that is not an illusion. As I have been walking around today, my shoes have literally been deteriorating. They were fine this morning, and now they are crumbling beneath me:). I like how the swelling goes all the way up my leg...it is such a sexy look.

I have a doctor's appointment today in about 30 minutes and I am really hoping she says that I need to be induced because my swelling is too much. Is that wishful thinking? :)

Well, I just wanted to share with you a wonderful vision of my "Big Foot." I hope everyone is having a great Hump Day!!!!

PUFFY!!!!

Over the last couple weeks I have started to get really puffy...especially my feet. The swelling has also effected my hands, which I like to call banana hands, and face. I was looking through pictures on my phone the other day and came across this picture. I think I was either 22wks or 24wks along in this picture. It was so weird for me to see myself not swollen!!! That same night I went to dinner at Dirty Daves (yum!!) with my Mom and Kora. I was talking with them about how gross and puffy I am and then proceeded to show them this picture so that they could get an idea of how different I looked. Not that I didn't think they already knew, but sometimes when you see someone everyday, or almost everyday, you don't realize how extreme a change is until you see a comparison. Kora responded with, "Aww, you were so pretty!!!" We all instantly started cracking up. Don't worry, I didn't take it personal:). It was just so funny and then it made it even funnier how she was tripping all over her words after that to try and back out of the statement. Needless to say we got some good laughs.

I am definitely ready for Don to make his arrival!! My doctor said that most swelling starts to go down within 24 hours of delivery, and I CANNOT wait for that to start happening. Wearing shoes again would be a nice change to my current flip flops. I had an ultrasound last week, which was so different that the earlier ones. When babies are big and you get an ultrasound you have NO idea what you are looking at because only bits and parts fit into the screen. The ultrasound tech said that she thinks he has a lot of hair because she could see white stuff around his head, which usually indicates hair. I can't wait to see what our little guy looks like!! I want to kiss his little face:).

You are welcome to make your entrance any day now Baby Don...your Mom and Dad are both ready to meet you:).

36 weeks

Don't mind the poor quality of this picture. I forgot to put my memory card back in my camera, so I had to resort to the phone:). Well, I am 36 weeks!!!! I had a doctor's appointment yesterday and found out that I am 80% effaced and 1 cm dialated. Baby Don might be an April baby instead of May:). He must be partial to diamonds. Over the past few days I have started to get REALLY uncomfortable, mainly because I am super swollen. I currently do not have a pair of shoes that I can get on my feet (not even my slippers!!!!), so I have resorted to wearing flip flops everyday. Awesome combo with all the rain we have been having. Uncomfortable or not, I am really excited to meet our little guy and my appointment yesterday just heightened that excitement. He will be here before we know it.

Showers for my Sweet Boy

The last weekend of March brought a couple of showers for my sweet baby. On Saturday my BFF (Marie) and sisters threw a shower at Marie's house. It was such a perfect set up for a gathering. By the end of the party we kept joking that Marie needed to start renting her "space" out for showers and parties because it was so great. Everything is open and never felt too crowded or squishy. It was such a great day. I love it when my high school friends and college friends can all be in the same place. My favorite peeps all coming together:). Here I am in front of the beautiful table scape. Kimberly and Amy really should go into some type of party planning business together. They always do such a great job. Amy made the adorable banner, which I will also be using in his nursery. (Side note about that...his room is almost finished, so I will be posting pics soon:). ) Me, with my beautiful nieces. They were both so sweet at the party. I can't wait for them to play with Baby Don. I am sure they will all be great friends.
Opening some gifts. Last night, I told Richie that I wanted him to wear this little hat home from the hospital, and Richie laughed because he didn't think I would really want Baby Don's head to be that big from the start:). I guess he is right...Don can wear that after a few weeks once he has grown into it.
The next day we had a much smaller shower with my Aunties and some cousins up at the Sheraton. It was such a wonderful day. I really wish we were all able to get together more often...even if just for a quick lunch. It is so nice to chat and catch up with family.

Here I am with all my sisters...out-laws included:).
Eerkes Aunites...
Hussey gals.
Both days were so great. I am getting so excited for this little guy to get here. The house is painted, his room is almost done, and I only have one more load of his laundry to finish up. Last night, I told Rich that on Tuesday I would be NINE MONTHS PREGNANT!!! With a little smirk on his face he said, "this is all getting a little too crazy." I think it is too late to go back now babe:).

33 Weeks 5 days

Getting closer!!!! These pictures were actually taken exactly a week ago today, so I am now 34 weeks 5 days. My little man has been very busy lately and really likes to keep his Momma up at night:). He is still head down and I am keeping my fingers crossed that he will stay that way. Joe, Janice, and I were talking about how uncomfortable that seems. I mean, can you image going around all day upside down?????? I had all of my showers last week so today I spent most of the day filling in the gaps of the items I still needed. Putting away all of his goodies that I received from my very gracious friends and family, and then buying some other goodies today, is making everything seem so real. That, and the fact that there is someone moving around in my tummy all day:).
I think things are starting to get real for Richie too. Yesterday he told me that we needed to get a manger. I wasn't quite sure what he was talking about, so he clarified that we needed a manger to put by the bed. It was so cute. I filled him in that those are actually called bassinets not mangers, however, I have no doubts that Baby Don will be very perfect and similar to Jesus so maybe a manger is more appropriate...LOL!!!

I keep looking around at all of our baby stuff and then exclaim, "We're gonna have a baby soon!!!!" I can't believe how blessed we are.
