Do you know what today is?????

...it's our anniversary. (Does anyone else remember that song?)

Five years ago today Richie and I got hitched!!

I was watching the movie Parenthood, with Steve Martin, the other day. The little old grandma started to explain how her husband had taken her on a roller coaster ride when they were younger and it went up and down, up and down. She went on to say how others preferred the merry-go-round, but not her...she liked the ups and down. She ended the story by saying every time they went down, she knew they would go back up. I thought it was a great explanation of life. Richie and I have definitely had some ups and downs, but it has been so much more fun than sitting on a silly merry-go-round, where you always know what is coming next:). Richie, thank you for being with me through all the ups and downs and letting me know that no matter what happens, our roller coaster cart won't ever get derailed...there is always another up!!!

This year, we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Baby Don and taking in the joy of expanding our family...definitely an up:).

Rich, I'll love you 'till the day I die...and thank you for loving me...even when I am crazy sometimes!!

He likes to move it, move it....

...well most of the time. At 24 weeks, Baby Don has kind of settled into a "playtime" schedule. After breakfast, lunch, and dinner he gets a boost of energy and likes to dance, exercise, and play...and usually around 8:30 every night he kicks the tempo up a few notches and really gets to showing off and playing. However, I am really starting to think that Baby Don takes after his father and is a little bratty sometimes. A couple nights ago his regular 8:30 play time was much less intense than normal. Then the next morning, there was no playtime after breakfast or lunch. Needless to say, I was a little nervous around the end of the work day when I had yet to feel him move. After talking with my doctor and doing some relaxing for an hour to count movements, they advised me to head over to labor and delivery at the hospital just to make sure that he was OK. While Richie and I headed over there my nerves were running on high intensity. However, as soon as the nurse hooked me up to the monitor Baby Don decided to put on a show for her and move all around!!! Such a little stinker...here I was worried all day and then he waits until I get to the hospital, hooked up to the monitor, to finally start playing!!!

So I guess he was just having a little rest / lazy day, but that lazy day sure did make his momma worried!!!! The doctor at the hospital said that all of his readings from the monitor looked really good and strong. All that worry for nothing...I guess I am a total first mom worry wart!!!

Dinner with the girls...

On Saturday night I was able to meet up with two of my favorite gals, Jessica and Lauren. We met in Gig Harbor at a restaurant called Green House. It was really good!! They had quite the wine list, which I, of course, had to steer clear of, but I look forward to going there again someday and sampling some:). The atmosphere was very relaxing and this is a place that I would recomend to anyone passing through Gig Harbor.

It was great to catch up and talk about all the fun things that have been going on in our lives lately. Like always, it was much too short and we left wishing we had more time to hang out. We all missed our fourth lady, Beth, who was unable to make it. None-the-less, great to catch up even for a short while:).
I wish we were all able to get together more often, as it is great to meet up and share comfortable conversation that comes with friendships which spans decades. However, this will have to hold us over until March when the four of us are planning a Levenworth weekend trip. I can't wait!!!
It was great to see you ladies! I am so blessed to have all of you as friends:).

Happy New Year Baby Don

On New Year's Eve I was 21 weeks and 3 days. We took some bump pics before heading out to our friend, Willie's house. It is so crazy because it seems like in the last couple weeks Baby Don has really started to pop out there. Richie keeps teasing me because almost every night I will tell him, "Look!!! I think he grew last night!!!" Richie is quick to remind me that he is suppose to grow every day, and that he is not doing anything different than other babies:). Happy New Year Baby Don!!!! We are so excited to meet you this year and as you can see, your Dad and I already love you soooooo much.
New Years Eve was very nice and low key for us this year. We stopped by my parents to check on Joe (since he was home alone...don't worry, his idea of a rager consisted of 6 friends...LOL) before heading out to Willie's. Richie had to work the next day so we didn't even stay until midnight!! We were in bed watching the needle to ring in the new year. I know, I know old and boring, but it was actually kind of nice to celebrate with just our little family:).
I hope everyone enjoyed their New Years Eve and I wish you all the best in 2011!

Christmas Day

Christmas at the Hussey house is always filled with lots of commotion and noise, yet it is always so relaxing. Well, at least to me...sometimes, I think it might be a little much for the out-laws, oops, I mean in-laws:). I know it is for my husband!! He is still not quite used to all the noise and commotion, but every year he learns how to deal with it a little better.

Here is Sophia playing with Uncle Joe's Guitar Hero. This was not a new toy, but something that we should have re-wrapped for her because she found it to be very entertaining. I can't believe how old she looks in this picture!!! Sweet Griffin...adorable like always:).
These two dorks!!! You may notice that Richie had T.V. ears around his neck. The are the best thing EVER. My Dad has a hard time hearing the TV so he wears them to avoid turning the TV up so loud that it drives everyone else nuts. They worked great on Christmas day because Richie could listen and watch the Lakers game without it disturbing, or adding any more noise, to the day. I think they also helped him to deal with some of the Hussey noise as well:).
Baby Don will be all ready for the Husky blackout game next year:). He will also be able to match his Dad because Richie always wears black Husky gear.
Last but not least, Abigail, the sweet little muffin. She did great on Christmas day. She is such a nice, sweet little girl.
"So this is Christmas, and a Happy New Year." Please picture me singing that song while you read that:). I hope that everyone enjoyed their Christmas as much as I was able to.
Happy Birthday Jesus!!!!
