Craft Party

Crafting?! No, not me:)...

Amy made an adorable mobile for Griffin, which inspired Kimberly to make one for Abby as well. However, Kimberly lacked the crafting supplies that Amy has an abundance of...and a crafting party was born! Actually, Kimberly and Amy were really the only two that were crafting at the party and it turned into more of a "hang out" party for the rest of the family. Of course I had to use this opportunity to take some pictures of my cute nieces and nephew!!

Here is happy baby Griffin LeRoy. Lately, when he smiles it has turned into a scrunched up nose. So cute!! My Dad thinks that Griff is imitating what he sees when we smile at him...last time I checked, I was not scrunching my nose when I smile...ok, ok, I guess I do sometimes:). This big girl recently learned how to wink, hence the picture below!! The other day she said, "Risa look at me!!!" and then proceeded to wink at me for about thirty seconds straight! She cracks me up.
Abby looks like such a big girl in this picture!! The barrette that she has in was made during the crafting party by her Aunt Amy. She looks like a little Irish baby with the red hair and the green accessory.
Crafting away...
This is too cute...I love how my Dad and Griffin our doing the same thing. Hussey men don't change much through generations!! Ha!!
Amy also made this cute flower in Sophia's hair. I sure do have a talented sister-in-law.
She looks too cute and peaceful in this picture not to include it.
The crafting party ended up being a great time for all of us to hang out. There was only a little crafting going on, but lots of fun!!

Book Club

Last night my book club met at O'Blarney's Irish Pub in Lacey. It was a small meeting, as many members were unable to make it. However, sometimes it is nice to have a small quiet conversation:)...just once in awhile.

The book that we read last month was "The Weight of Silence" by Heather Gudenkauf. I would recommend this book to everyone. It was a very fast, easy read and very intriguing. I brought choices for our next book this time, which were:

"This Side of Paradise" by F. Scott Fitzgeral.
"The Help" by Kathryn Stockett.

And "Sarah's Key" by Tatiana de Rosnay.

After voting, we decided on "Sarah's Key." I already had this book at home, so I instantly started reading it last night. I really think that I am going to enjoy this one!!
I thought I would post this in case any of you are looking for a new book:).
Happy Reading!!!!

Lucky Girl

I am such a lucky girl. I have two groups of AMAZING women that I share a friendship with. It is such a blessing that I have been able to keep these relationships going even after husbands, new jobs, and re-locations. I was super lucky this last month because I got to see both groups!! About three weeks ago I got together with Sarah, Lisa, and Chelsea, my great friends who I met at UW from my sorority, Delta Delta Delta. We went to Cle Elum, where Sarah's Mom was kind enough to let us borrow her cabin for the weekend. It was such a nice, relaxing weekend. We just lazed around and drank wine:). Perfect.

We were able to head over the Suncadia Lodge for a little bubbly! Sarah and Lisa at the cabin.
Before heading over to Cle Elum we booked spa appointments. Here is Chelsea as we were checking in at the spa...ready for some pampering and relaxing!!!
This past weekend, I headed down to Bend, OR with Lauren, Beth, and Jessica...some of my best friends from childhood. We also were able to relax and chat, but on Saturday we decided to head over the Mt. Bachelor for a little snow shoeing. It was sooooo beautiful. Such a clear, sunny day.
Here I am pointing to our trail back. By the time we were done, we were all EXHAUSTED!!!
There is a wonderful little brewer, The Deschutes Berwery, in Bend. They made almost all of their food fresh. It was delicious and a great experience. Jessica and Lauren posing for the camera:).
Jessica and Beth.
Look at that view. We snowshoed into Todd Lake and the scenery was breathtaking.
I really think that I might be one of the luckiest people to be blessed with such great friends. Both weekends were amazing!!! However, with all these weekends away my husband was starting to wonder if I had a boyfriend:). Babe, I promise I don't have any more weekends away planned for awhile!!!
Thank you to my wonderful freinds.

Love them...

I absolutely love this girl... ...and this little cute boy...
...and this beautiful baby.

I don't know if I am bias or what, but I really do think that I have the MOST beautiful nieces and nephew!!!
All three of them make me smile:). Last weekend we had a Valentine's party at Kyle and Amy's and the whole Hussey family was able to make. It was such a great time...especially getting to see these three.

Just something I found...

"I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie
burner. I believe in kissing and kissing a lot. I believe in being
strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe happy girls are
the prettiest girls. I believe tomorrow is another day. And I
believe in miracles."--Audrey Hepburn

Just a quote that I came across today. When I saw it, I realized that I also believe all of these things, some of them I have been forgetting lately so this was a good reminder:). It is such a simple quote, yet says so much.

Happy Presidents Day.

Last Saturday Bowl

Last Saturday Richie and I went bowling with Kora, Nick, Aaron, Sarah, and our neighbor Nicki. It was a really fun time. As most of you know, Richie broke his hand awhile back and had a really tough time getting it to heal properly, therefore, our bowling days were put on hold. This was his first attempt at bowling since the injury, and I have to admit, he wasn't quite the same bowler from before. The next day his hand hurt really bad, so hopefully, his hand will continue to heal and someday, the bowler we all know and love will be back:).

Here is the man himself putting in all of our names on the computer. He entered Aaron's name as "Erin," so we kept telling Aaron that it was the girl version of him whenever he bowled:).
Since Richie's hand has been hurt, I also have had to take some time off from my bowling game, therefore, I was not at top performance that night as well. As you can see from the picture below, I wasn't too happy with all of my skills.
Great form Kora:)!!
I just thought this was a cute picture of these two. Usually, one of them is doing something silly in pictures, so it was nice to capture a "normal" shot.
Like I said, usually one of them is doing something silly...see example below.
It was a great night. We all really enjoyed ourselves.
